Fantastic little cottage so lovely! Spent New Year’s Eve here for a couple days. Great local pubs espically the butt of sherry! Fab little find The Dog House.

We celebrated Christmas with family and stayed at The Doghouse. It was a cosy cottage. Tidy, clean and dog friendly. The shower and toilet room was clean and tidy. It was within walking distance of my family. Nearby is beautiful walking.

The Dog House was exactly what we were looking for. Everything you need for a short or longer stay and Jennifer was very helpful in providing me with information required in advance of our stay. We did not have a dog with us, but I can see how dog owners would love to stay here as it cares for both human and dog in the same way - Well Done Jennifer!!

Ideal for a one night stopover on a long journey. Instructions were accurate and easy enough to implement. Had just enough of everything to ensure that we were comfortable for one night. Good value for money. Easy walk into Mere, to buy supplies from the Co-op.

Everything about the dog house is great, very comfortable self-contained apartment 👌

Loved our stay! Cosy cottage and our dog, Fly, was also very happy. Will definitely book again!

The Dog House was absolutely amazing 👏 everything was pristine and top class quality, very private without being too far from the house!! so peaceful and as I was self catering it had all the utilities I needed. Inside it was so nice, warm and cosy and excellent for my doggies to have a secure garden to let them out into without worry of escaping. Will highly recommend to anyone i know 😉

We only stayed for one night before doing early morning photography at Stourhead. Very clean and comfortable - would recommend :)

Great location and place to stay out of the busier villages around in the area. Easy to go and explore around the other areas and Mere as well. House was very easy to find, and had everything that was stated in the description.

Cosy with lovely touches such as an Advent Calendar for doggie visitors!

The Dog House was a perfect little place to stay for our planned visit to nearby Longleat. We initially booked because it was dog friendly but didn’t take our fur baby in the end. It was all set up for for her though, even a doggy advent calendar. Left it for the next lucky pet. Lovely stay, thank you.

Lovely dog-filled little annex. Clean and charming in the centre of Mere. Dog beds and biscuits upstairs and down. Clean, warm and easy with a bit of garden for the pup.

Although it was a short stay, it was very welcoming both for us and for our four-legged friends, who even got their own beds. Everything was very clean, and the area is very pleasant for walking around!

Location was great, no more than a 10 minute wander into the centre of Mere which has a surprising amount of shops, pubs etc. The accommodation was just what we were looking for as we were visiting family nearby. Very cosy and lovely and warm inside as it threw it down outside. Considering it isn't large all the needed amenities have been squeezed in but not so it seems cramped, the owners have done a great job. Would definitely visit again if we need an overnight stay.

Cosy and unusual property with lots of thoughtful details. Perfectly located for National Trust Stourhead.

Comfortable and warm, perfectly set up if you have a dog. Dog beds, blankets, water bowl, towels and treats. Perfect for humans as well with kitchen, bathroom and comfy bed.
